Dia de los Muertos – Paradise (re)Discovered

Today is the beginning of two days of celebrations for Dia de los Muertos here in Santa Fe and in some regions in México. Other cultures and traditions have similar celebrations and remembrances where family and friends pray for and otherwise remember loved ones who have passed on. The intention is to support them on their continued spiritual journey.

I believe that we are all on a spiritual journey whether here in physical form, having transitioned to a nonphysical dimension, or upon our many returns to physical in this world and perhaps even others. Wayne Dyer used to say that we are spiritual beings having a human experience here on Earth. The implication is that our spiritual nature transcends our experience in the moment; whether in physical, spirit, or some place of transition in-between, our spiritual nature persists and remains unchanged.

This is a key aspect of my current work, which I call Paradise (re)Discovered. I believe that we come into this physical lifetime with a clear sense of who we are; a very purposeful connection to our spiritual self that transcends any current incarnation and that we carry within us from lifetime to lifetime and points in-between.

But when we are born into a lifetime things get a bit complicated. Well-meaning, albeit important, others—parents and other caretakers, and later family and friends and the culture at large—mold us into who and what they wish for us. Gradually we lose connection with our true essence; we lose our inborn sense of our spiritual selves, who we really are.

Paradise (re)Discovered, like the celebrations of Dia de los Muertos, supports us on our spiritual journey by encouraging a direct reconnection with the essence of who we really are. As we make that reconnection, our challenges in life, which result from a misalignment with our true selves, dissipate and life blossoms with the ease and grace that can only come from such a natural fit. It’s a homecoming. And like with the proper key in its lock there is no effort. Perfection abounds in all we experience.

Do you have a sense that you have gotten away from your true self? If you are experiencing challenges in your life, you have.

Do you want to reconnect with who you really are? I promise, it is sooo worth it!
