Psychological Assessment
Understand the Whole PictureFor adults and older adolescents seeking psychological assessment in New Mexico, the most important question is often not simply, “Do I meet criteria for a diagnosis?” It is, “What explains the pattern I have been experiencing?” If you have wondered about ADHD, autism, a learning difference, gender-related questions, cognitive concerns, or how several factors may fit together, a comprehensive evaluation can help create a clearer picture.
I provide tele-assessment to people age 16 and older throughout New Mexico, with attention to how cognitive, learning, developmental, emotional, identity, and functional patterns interact in everyday life.

A deeper look at questions that often bring people to assessment
These guides may help you understand whether diagnostic clarification, learning-disability assessment, or an accommodations-focused evaluation fits the question you are trying to answer.
ADHD, Autism, or Something Else?
When attention, sensory, social, learning, emotional, and functional concerns overlap, a broader psychological assessment can help clarify which explanation, or combination of explanations, best fits the larger pattern.
Explore ADHD, autism, and overlapping symptoms →College, Work, and Testing Accommodations
Learn when a psychological evaluation may be useful for documenting functional limitations and supporting accommodation requests, and why it is important to check the receiving organization's requirements before beginning a new evaluation.
Explore psychological evaluation for accommodations →Adult Learning Disability & Dyslexia Assessment
Longstanding difficulties with reading, writing, mathematics, or learning may become more visible when college, training, testing, or work demands increase. Adult assessment can help clarify whether a learning disorder or another explanation best fits the pattern.

My psychological assessment practice is designed around the questions that bring a person to evaluation rather than around a predetermined test battery. Depending on your concerns, an assessment may consider several domains together so that the conclusions reflect the broader pattern of how you think, learn, function, experience yourself, and navigate daily life.
ADHD Assessment
Evaluation of attention, executive functioning, developmental history, emotional factors, and other conditions that may resemble, overlap with, or complicate ADHD.
Autism Evaluation
Adult autism assessment focused on developmental history, social communication, patterns of behavior and experience, strengths, support needs, and relevant differential diagnosis.
Learning Disability Evaluation
Assessment of reading, writing, mathematics, academic skills, and related cognitive processes to clarify possible learning disorders and appropriate accommodations.
Gender Identity Assessment
Respectful, gender-affirming evaluation for people exploring or clarifying gender identity, including psychological documentation related to gender-affirming care when appropriate to the evaluation.
Integrated Diagnostic Assessment
For people whose concerns do not fit neatly into a single category. Evaluation can consider overlapping cognitive, developmental, learning, emotional, personality, identity, and functional factors.
Intellectual & Cognitive Assessment
Evaluation of overall cognitive abilities, patterns of strengths and relative challenges, and the practical implications of those findings.
Vocational & Functional Assessment
Evaluation of how cognitive, psychological, academic, and functional characteristics may affect work, education, career direction, workplace fit, accommodations, and support needs.
Specialized Referral Questions
Other assessment questions may be considered when they fall within the scope of the practice. New Mexico DVR referrals and documentation related to NM DD Waiver eligibility remain available and are handled separately from primary self-pay services.
Is Psychological Assessment Right for Me?
People often seek an evaluation because something has never quite made sense. You may have succeeded in some areas while struggling unexpectedly in others, received different explanations over the years, or reached a point where understanding the pattern has implications for work, school, relationships, identity, or your own sense of yourself.
- You wonder whether ADHD, autism, a learning disorder, or another condition may explain longstanding difficulties.
- You already have one diagnosis but feel that it does not explain the whole picture.
- You have experienced uneven performance in school, work, or everyday tasks and want to understand why.
- You need documentation that may support appropriate school or workplace accommodations.
- You are exploring your gender identity or seeking thoughtful, affirming assessment or documentation related to gender-affirming care.
- You are considering an educational or career direction and want a clearer understanding of your strengths, limitations, and functional needs.
Psychological testing and tele-assessment services are available to clients physically located in New Mexico. This is an assessment-only practice; I do not provide psychotherapy.
Why Choose This Assessment Practice?
A useful evaluation should do more than determine whether diagnostic criteria are met. My approach emphasizes integration: understanding how test findings, developmental history, life experience, emotional functioning, learning, identity, and real-world functioning relate to one another.
