Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer tele-assessment?
Yes. All assessments are conducted via secure tele-assessment tools. Many interview and rating-scale portions can be completed remotely, and some standardized tests allow tele-assessment administration. We will discuss what is appropriate for your referral questions.
Do you provide therapy?
No. This is an assessment-only practice. I do not provide therapy. If clinical care is needed, I can include recommendations for appropriate providers in your assessment report.
How long does the assessment take?
Most assessments include an intake (60–90 minutes), 3–6 hours of testing across one or two sessions, and a separate results meeting. Timelines can vary with referral questions and prior records availability.
Will I receive a written report?
Yes. You will receive a clear, concise report with practical recommendations you can use at school, work, for referral sources, or with other providers. A results meeting is offered so you can ask questions and plan next steps.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not work directly with insurance companies. 50% of the assessment fee is due to schedule the initial appointment, with the balance due to deliver the final report. This approach allows us to offer flexible, individualized care while protecting your privacy. We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance provider before scheduling to ask about out-of-network testing benefits. If your plan offers reimbursement, we can provide the documentation you will need to submit a claim. Any reimbursement is a matter between you and your insurer.
Do you assess children?
Services focus on teens (16+) and adults. If you are seeking testing for a younger child, we recommend reviewing options at Psychology Today or the New Mexico Psychological Association.
Can you coordinate with my providers or school?
With your written permission, we can provide your results to your therapist, physician, or school and workplace to support accommodations and care planning.
Is this a good fit if I'm referred by New Mexico DVR?
Yes. DVR referral assessments are accepted and prioritized. Reports address functional capacities and include training or workplace recommendations relevant to your DVR plan. Referral and authorization must be made by your local NM Division of Vocational Rehabilitation staff.
